FAQs

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions. As always, if you have more, feel free to text us anytime!

Question 1: Can I Bring Someone With Me?

For our studio, we ask that no one else accompanies you to your session. This is to ensure the privacy of all of our clients and it aids in our ability to fully connect with you, giving you the best possible experience!

While we understand it is not the intention of anyone who would come with you, we've often found that they are more of a distraction than anything else. And even the most positive and supportive person can make you feel insecure when you're half-naked in front of my camera!

So - we ask that this day be reserved for you and you alone. YOU ARE worthy of this experience just as much as the person before you and person after you and we want to focus all our energy on YOU and YOU ALONE!

Question 2: Do We Share My Images?

Only if you let us!!! We LOVE sharing images. And it is our hope that you will be someone who allows us to! However - that decision is entirely up to you and we will never push you to share if you're not comfortable! Everyone you see on our website, marketing materials and/or social media were proud of their images and couldn't wait to share them!

Question 3: How Long Does the Session Take?

We ask our clients to keep their schedule clear from about 9-3:00 - while some clients end earlier than that, it's a pretty safe bet that it will take about that much time. How is this time divided?

60-90 minutes in hair and makeup

90-120 minutes in front of a camera

60 minutes spent on break

60-120 minutes in your ordering session

If you are well prepared for your ordering session, we can usually get that done in about an hour! Not a long time, but a lifetime of benefit!

Question 4: How Much Editing Is Done To My Images?

There are a few of philosophies out there around retouching - especially boudoir images.

1. Retouch it so much that you can't recognize your own body/face.

2. No Retouching at all.

3. Happy Medium.

Our studio is definitely part of the Happy Medium Camp. We want you to see your images and not only KNOW that it is you, but FEEL that it is you. We won't turn a size 22 into a 2, but you will be the best looking size 22 ever!

A few guidelines as we consider when deciding how/what to retouch.

1. If the subject could be posed in a way that would have better accentuated the curve or asset, we will retouch that part.

2. If the clothing fit perfectly in a perfect world, we will fit the clothing to you with retouching.

3. If the image would look differently if lighting was ideal, we'll retouch the image.

4. We will retouch cellulite unless otherwise told.

5. We will retouch anything that would be gone in 6 months.

6. We will retouch leg/arm/tummy bumps.

We will smooth skin (but not so much that you look plastic). We retouch to magazine quality - but not so much that you're unrecognizable. Blemishes, skin smoothing and heavy tan lines are retouched in your images. This is one of my favorite reasons for showing images on the same day as your session. By the time you come back from your break, you'll see images that are not retouched. My favorite response to that is "You didn't even retouch these images?!?!?!" That's right, Girl. This is ALLLLLLLL you 😘

Question 5: I Have Kids. What Will I Do With Wall Art Anyway?

You need to know a few things.

1. You are likely wearing more in your boudoir images than you are in your swimsuit at the beach.

2. Your kiddos aren't going to look your wall art and think "There's my dad's s3x goddess" - they're looking at those images of you and thinking, "Wow! My mom looks and feels beautiful in that photo 😍!"

3. Our studio is a pretty modest studio. While we photograph our fair share of kinky images (no erotica, though), many of our images are VERY tame. They're the kind of images you'd LOVE to have of your grandma back in the day.

4. You can always put your wall art in a place in your home that is special to you - perhaps in a place you see while you're getting ready in the morning. It can be that morning dopamine hit that gives you the confidence that helps you start your day!

While all these points above are valid, I think it's the reasoning behind our images that might give us hesitation. But that motivation is not what's seen to those who see your photos.

So, Girlfriend, it's okay for you to have a beautiful photo of yourself in your home.

Question 6: How Will I Know How To Pose?

Can you believe I’ve photographed over 500 women?!?!

Would you believe me if I also told you that I’ve never photographed two bodies that were exactly the same? EVEN if I’ve photographed a client more than once.

Our bodies are meant to change.

It’s my job to show you how beautiful you are at this VERY MOMENT with this VERY BODY. Fortunately, I’ve had enough experience that I’ve learned a LOT about body curvature, posing and technical advantage when it comes to posing women. I hate to brag, but  I’m an expert!

Nothing is worse than going into a boudoir session and having a photographer tell you, “Look sexy”. Okay, Ralph. No idea how to look that way!

I won’t tell you that. And while the end photographs are insanely gorgeous and sensual, the in-between is just plain silliness. Don’t take yourself too seriously in regards to posing. I will walk you through everything (and even demonstrate many of the poses for you) and make sure your images showcase how incredibly stunning you are!

Question 7: Where Do the Sessions Take Place?

We are so proud of our studio.

Sessions used to take place out of my converted 2-car garage. I know what you're thinking "a garage"?! - but it was actually a really REALLY cool space. But - it was still at my house. Which was fine as long as the kiddos weren't home from school.

We had had our mind set on a commercial property near our home for a few years. We were finally ready to make a commitment to buy the lot - we called our realtor and he told us, "There have been three cash offers on it in the last week". I was DEFLATED.

The following week or so, I happen to be looking at houses near our personal home and one popped up that really caught my eye.

It turned out to be the PERFECT location, PERFECT size, PERFECT layout and PERFECT placement. So - we bought it. We've been here since 2020 (four sessions before we had to shut down thanks to CoV1D) and now that we've grown so much are looking at more spaces, but I'm having a hard time letting go of the idea of this beautiful home that we've used solely as my boudoir studio. It has served our needs SO WELL.

One of my most proud adjectives women have described our studio is "Safe". I want women to feel safe and I'm so grateful that has translated into the energy of our studio 🥰.

Question 8: Do You Have A Client Wardrobe Closet?

Well, oh well 😎 Let me tell you about our lingerie options!!!

We have probably over 400 pieces at this point. They are sized all the way from XS to 5XL. We have a lot of jewel tones, blacks, and whites. We have fishnet stockings, stilettos, fancy robes, body jewelry and SO.MUCH.MORE.

As a matter of fact. I probably need to pare down some of the pieces in my closet. It is truly overflowing and our studio does NOT have a small closet!!!

BUT - all that to say - I think going through the process of looking for your own lingerie is truly important. We buy things that we like in the store, try them on in the most unflattering position (the mirror) and then continue to tell ourselves lies about what we look like in said things.

Let me tell you something, Sister. What you see in the mirror is NOT what others see.

You're looking at yourself with all the experiences you've had in the past. The trauma, the neglect, the rejection, the self-loathing, the exhaustion. But others see you with their love for you. The kindness, the stability, the nurturing, the steadfastness, the provision.

Not only that, but when you look at yourself in the lingerie from MY perspective, you'll realize why everyone thinks you're so pretty.

So yeah - we could play dress-up for anyone who walks through our doors! We have lingerie for you. But we definitely feel like trying your own pieces on before your session is a really important part of the process. As scary as it might seem, you'll be really glad you did!
